The first event of the Interreg Med Blue Growth project (2019-2022) will be held online from November 10 to 11. Its main objective is to ensure the capitalization and transfer of the outputs produced by our community of projects dealing with blue economy issues in the Mediterranean region for efficient integration and strategic linkage with the identified objectives.
“How to foster the development of Blue energies in the Med region?”, questo il titolo dell’evento, è dedicato al grande potenziale Mediterraneo per la produzione di energie rinnovabili marine (MRE), che ha come fulcro d’azione il Green Deal dell’UE per trasformare la lotta al cambiamento climatico in un’opportunità di crescita attraverso la sperimentazione di nuove tecnologie per le MRE.
The online event will be organized in two phases:
- A capitalization event (November 10) dedicated mainly to an overview of MRE development in the Mediterranean region, the enabling framework (including the legal and regulatory framework), and proposals for reconciling MRE, biodiversity, and ecotourism.
- An E-Blue Agora (November 11), co-organized with the Circle the Med Forum, dedicated to SMEs with the presentation of tools, funding opportunities, and a matchmaking session within the framework of the 1st BLUE DEAL business forum.
The event aims to foster greater and shared knowledge among scientists, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs to promote the sustainable development of marine renewable energy in the Mediterranean region, through the sharing of best practices to reconcile MRE development with biodiversity and ecotourism; support for Mediterranean SMEs in the blue energy sector to find potential investors and identify additional sources of funding; capitalization of the tools/measures developed jointly.
